For non-adblocking use cases, Dialogue can be set up in tag management systems that do not isolate tags to an iframe including Google Tag Manager. The process for setting up the Dialogue code to be served from GTM is straightforward. Sourcepoint does not recommend setting Dialogue up in a tag manager for adblocking use cases.

The messaging library still needs to be loaded onto the sites file structure and then loaded asynchronously using bootstrap.

Step 1 - Within GTM, set up a new tag.

Step 2 - Click on the tag configuration screen and select the “Custom HTML” option.

At this point, testing can proceed as normally and messages set up in the Dialogue user interface should be displayed to site visitors.

Step 3 - Paste the on-page configuration code in the “Custom HTML” window and click on the “Save” button. You do not need to check the “Support document.write()” option. Additionally, there are no “Advanced Settings” settings necessary for most implementations.

Step 4 - Set the “Trigger” option to “Page View”. Optionally, you can use a GTM “Custom Trigger” if necessary.

At this point, testing can proceed as normally and messages set up in the Dialogue user interface should be displayed to site visitors.
