A common way for non-IAB vendors to have users opt-out of tracking or ad delivery is to have an "opt-out" pixel fire. The Sourcepoint consent and reject actions provide an easy way for sites to perform this action without having to enter additional code onto the site's page templates.

The example code snippet below is an pixel for defining an AppNexus segment. The site can than use this segment and "negatively" target against users who a part of  that segment so that they do get ads.

var _sp_an_OptOutImage = new Image();
_sp_an_OptOutImage.src = "https://ib.adnxs.com/seg?member=827&add=14793258";

This gets entered into the vendor's consent action by doing the following:

  1. Navigate to the "Vendor List" tab in the "Consent" section of the Sourcepoint user interface.
  2. Select the vendor list that applies to the site or sites where the opt-out pixel should fire.
  3. Click on the vendor for whom the opt-out pixel should fire to bring up the vendor customization window.

4. Click on the "Reject Actions" tab and paste the JavaScript necessary to fire the pixel in the "Custom JavaScript" window (see screenshot below).

These same principles can be applied to opt-in pixels only using the consent tab rather than the reject tab.
